The Maine Coast Skaters Association offers co-ed youth ice hockey programs that begin in late September and run through the end of March. Information on our programs can be found on the About Our Programs page of the the Teams tab. We hope you consider joining our community for both recreational and competitive hockey.

Pre-Season Sessions at MRC

MRC is offering pre-season sessions the weeks of 9/12 and 9/19, including:

  • Intro to Bantams (Body Angling and Checking Clinic)
  • 3 on 3 Overspeed Hockey
  • Edges Clinc

MRC Hockey Development Programs

The 2016-17 U6 and Learn to Play programs are being run by MRC:

U6 - This program is FREE for children ages 3-6, with three sessions running throughout the season (additional details in the attachment below).

Learn to Play - This program is for new skaters who want to learn how to play hockey and get up-to-speed on age appropriate skills. The first session will run from 9/19 - 10/29 on Mondays from 5:30-6:30. The cost is $50.

U18 DEVELOPMENT TEAM REGISTRATION

Please use the above link to register for our U18 Development Non-League program. This program offers 18 practices and 4 scrimmages ending on November 10th for just $200. This is a great way to get on the ice ahead of your high school season and stay sharp!

2016-17 Tier III Squirt, Peewee and Bantam Team Rosters

The Squirt, Peewee and Bantam Tier III team rosters have been posted (click on the PDF documents below). Players are asked to respond to John Magri at jmagri@mathewsbrothers.com  by Monday April 11th to accept or decline the offer to play.  If a player fails to respond by April 11th he/she will forfeit his/her spot on the roster and it will be offered to the next appropriate player.

A non-refundable deposit of $150 must be received by Monday, 4/25, along with the signed player contract (provided after the acceptance email is received), to reserve a roster spot. This deposit will be put toward your player’s tuition at registration in the fall. If payment is not received by April 25th, the player will forfeit his/her spot on the roster and it will be offered to the next appropriate player. Payment will be accepted by check only, made out to MCSA and mailed to:

To all of the skaters who tried out and are not listed, we are making some exciting enhancements to our Tier IV House program.  There will be a spot for everyone to play hockey next year…stay tuned for more details!


Tier 4 Hockey is in the House at MRC!

MCSA is excited to announce our Local Tier 4 Hockey program!

What is Tier 4 Local Hockey?

- A program designed for players 9 years-old and up who want to play the game at a reduced level of cost and time commitment with players of similar skills and abilities

- No travel - all practices and games are held at the MRC

- Opportunity to participate in skill development practices, play games against other House teams and participate in a season-end tournament
