Win the Sweetest Bike in Town!

Bicyclists, and friends of bicyclists! Here's your chance to ride with the wind -- and help raise funds for local youth hockey. Pete Orne, at Aegis Bicycles, has generously donated a new carbon-fiber bike worth $4,500. A raffle is now underway and you might just be lucky new owner of this road, triathlon, or mountain bike, if you get your tickets soon!

Raffle ticket will be available at the MCSA annual meeting coming up soon. Stay tuned for details about how to purchase a raffle ticket over the warmer months when we don't see each other at the rink!

Thanks for Another Great Fundraising Season!

Hat Trick Auction.....Midcoast Classic Tournament Program..... Everyone worked hard and collectively we pumped up the reserves.

Together, the local hockey trio of MCSA Youth Hockey, Ice Cats and Camden Hills Windjammers raised more than $35,000 -- no small peanuts, considering the economy, that playoff basketball games were underway, and that it was snowing like the dickens!

Read Doreen's letter that gives the lowdown.

A huge thank you is also in order for those who helped sell ads, buy ads, and otherwise support the production of the tournament handbook. We made $8,000 in that effort, which paid for our teams' participation in the Midcoast Classic, with some to spare.

Hockey! "Why should this game matter? Why does it matter? It matters because communities matter. Kids matter. Kids and parents and grandparents matter. Friends matter. Dreams, hopes, passions, common stories, common experiences, common memories, myths and legends; common imaginations; things that tell us about how we were, how we are, how we might be - they matter. Links, bonds, connections, young-old, past-present, East-West, French-English, men-women, able-disabled; things in common, things to share - they matter. And that is why hockey matters."

---- From "Home Game," as read by Jack Williams at the 2006 Hat Trick Auction
